Stop Trying To Figure It Out

Have you been waiting on God to explain the whole plan before you take the next step with Him? There is a tender freedom in remembering that Jesus does not call you to figure everything out, He calls you to follow. So often we tell God, “When You show me more, I’ll go more,” but faith rarely works that way. Like Abraham, we are invited to move with God before we can map the outcome. And as the message says so simply, you have to “follow to find out.” Not...Have you been waiting on God to explain the whole plan before you take the next step with Him? There is a tender freedom in remembering that Jesus does not call you to figure everything out, He calls you to follow. So often we tell God, “When You show me more, I’ll go more,” but faith rarely works that way. Like Abraham, we are invited to move with God before we can map the outcome. And as the message says so simply, you have to “follow to find out.” Not because God is hiding from you, but because He is forming trust in you. But there’s more. Sometimes what keeps us from following is not fear of the unknown, it is a label we cannot get past. Nathaniel heard “Jesus of Nazareth” and immediately judged the place: “Can anything good come from there?” Yet John pulls back the curtain and reminds us who Jesus really is. Nazareth did not define Him. In truth, “Nazareth came from Jesus.” He is bigger than your background, bigger than what people called you, bigger than the places you despise. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). “Through him all things were made” (John 1:3). “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12). This points us straight to Christ, the Word who “became flesh” and stepped into ordinary, even questionable places to bring glory and redemption (John 1:14). Jesus is not intimidated by your Nazareth. He comes close, He dwells with us, and He invites belief that opens our eyes to see His provision and His work. So what is your “Not Nazareth,” the place in your story where you assume nothing good can come from it? Heartbreak, failure, addiction, divorce, shame, a diagnosis, a family mess? Consider this truth: it would be a shame to let the shame of where you came from stop you from seeing the glory of who you came from. Today, you can take one faithful step, not because you have proof, but because you have Jesus. Take a quiet moment and whisper your surrender again. Ask Him for the courage to follow without all the details, and the humility to “come and see” what He can do. Then walk into your day believing, so you can see.Read more
